John Templeton

John Templeton is a commercial Realtor with over 30 years experience in nearly every facet of sales and marketing.

John has assisted hundreds of customers including Western Washington University, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Countrywide Mortgage, numerous landlords, developers and leasing agents in procuring and developing property. He has also personally developed several projects and currently owns a commercial building in Downtown Bellingham. There is no better way to learn than to actually be personally involved in the process.

Before merging his real estate brokerage with Windermere, John owned his own brokerage for over fifteen years. He has personally developed numerous properties in addition to assisting clients procure and develop their projects. Prior to entering into the real estate industry, John worked in the public schools where he taught and coached.


John Templeton is heavily involved in community service. He is a member of the Bellingham Bay Rotary Club where he served as President in 2000-2001. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Mt. Baker Theatre and has served as director on numerous community boards and foundations. He was a founding director of the Bellingham Festival of Music. John has successfully managed numerous nonpartisan political campaigns including sheriffs, two judges and the current Whatcom County prosecuting attorney (7 elections).

For recreation, John loves to golf, deep sea fish, play the occasional tennis match and travel as often as time permits.

Education & Affiliation

John graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Masters Equivalent fifth year degree in Speech and Hearing. He has achieved many real estate related certificates, awards and designations, and continually attends conferences to broaden his knowledge. John is a member of Commercial Brokers Association (CBA), Northwest Multiple Listing Association, National Association of Realtors, and the Washington Association of Realtors. He holds credentials for the Graduate Realtors Institute (GRI), the Accredited Buyers Representative (ABR), and is an Associate Broker (AB).
